Hope Uzodimma, the governor of Imo State, has pledged to smash bandits and other criminal elements disrupting the state’s calm, saying that no further negotiations with the hoodlums will be permitted.

During his Christmas sermon at St Rose Catholic Parish in his country residence Omuma in Oru-East Local Government Area of Imo State, Governor Uzodimma warned the hoodlums that if they do not repent in the spirit of Christmas, they will “be crushed.”

He took use of the occasion to call on those involved in banditry, kidnapping, and “killing and cannibalism of our people to cease and desist immediately.”

As a result, the governor expressed his condolences to his people and all Imo residents for the humiliation they had undergone at the hands of criminals and bandits and prayed that such an incident would never happen again in the state.

He also urged residents of the state to continue to support the government’s efforts to deliver democracy’s benefits.

While wishing everyone a happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year, he urged everyone to go about their daily lives without fear of being harassed or intimidated.
