The Senate has confirmed the nomination of Engr. Wakil Bukar as a Commissioner in the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The confirmation of Bukar followed the consideration of a report of the Committee on Establishment and Public Service presented during Tuesday’s plenary.
Presenting the report, the chairman of the committee, Sen. Ibrahim Shekarau (Kano Central) said the nominee responded favorably to questions asked during screening.
He said no negative report was received from security agencies and that no petition was received on the appointment of the nominee.
Shekarau said, “the nominee satisfied requisite legal requirement and the committee having being convinced of his qualifications and cognate experience, recommend Engr. Wakil Bukar to the Senate for confirmation”.
Consequently, the Senate upon consideration and adoption of the report, confirmed the appointment of the nominee.
Meanwhile, President Buhari has also asked the Senate to confirm the appointment of Salamatu Suleiman, as Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission.
