The much-anticipated move of Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen from Losc Lille has become messy as the Ligue 1 side and Napoli are giving out contradictory statements regarding the ongoing negotiations.
Napoli Sporting Director, Cristiano Giuntoli had earlier hinted that the negotiation between both clubs will restart as Osimhen had changed his agent.
However, Lille General Manager Marc Ingla told a press conference on Thursday that Osimhen’s transfer to the Serie A club was almost complete, adding that the only thing that remains was ‘the final details’.
Meanwhile, the transfer fee earlier announced to be around €80million has been adjusted with Sky Sports Italia reporting that the latest negotiation revolves around a deal of €60m, including bonuses.
Osimhen paused the ongoing negotiations between Lille and Napoli with a view to buying more time that will enable him think about the offer.
It wasn’t long before he disengaged his former agent who is alleged to have been promoting selfish interests the course of the negotiations.
The footballer subsequently employed William D’Avila to oversee the remainder of the process.
“He changed his agent, so we now have to start all over again. It’s a complex and difficult set of negotiations.”
Other top-flight teams that have shown interests in signing Osimhen include Tottenham, Manchester United and Liverpool.
