The Orusuen (King) of Okere-Urhobo Warri Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Emmanuel Okumagba, Okumagba ll, is set to receive his staff of office on Tuesday January 5th.
The event is scheduled hold at the Orusuen palace in Warri, the commercial nerve centre of Delta State.
The Deputy Governor of Delta state, Deacon Kingsley Otuaro, will present the Staff of Office to the Urhobo monarch on behalf of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
The enthronement of Okumagba ll followed his selection by kingmakers and subsequent approval by the State Executive Council last month.
He succeeds a former professor at the Sociology Department of the Delta State University, Abraka, HRM Prof. Paul Oghenero Okumagba, Idama II, who joined his ancestors July 2019.
Okere-Urhobo Warri Kingdom is one of the two Urhobo Kingdoms in Warri.
The traditional ruler until his selection as monarch was a member of the Governor Okowa’s Delta Advisory and Peace Building Council.
Several dignitaries including the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, are expected to attend the ceremony.
