Okowa Approves Appointment Of Two Monarchs In Delta

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has approved the appointments of Ovie Whiskey and Johnson Ologho as the new Ovie of Idjerhe and Odion of Emevor Kingdoms in Ethiope-West and Isoko North Local Government Areas respectively.

This was made known by the Delta State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Ehiedu Aniagwu during a press briefing on Wednesday in Asaba, the state capital.

The appointment of Ovie Whiskey as King of Idjerhe Kingdom comes after a keen contest between him and other candidates.

He was recently elected by the People of Idjerhe after the demise of their King two years ago.

On the other, Johnson Ologho who was appointed king of Emevor had served in the palace as a member of the Odion-in-Council for over 10 years.

Earlier, The Delta State Government approved a budget estimate of N378 billion for the 2021 fiscal year.

Of the budget estimate N174 billion was earmarked for recurrent expenditures while N203 billion was appropriated for capital expenditure.
