Ogun NUJ Loses Chairman, Soji Amosu, Ijaw News - Niger Delta Stories

Soji Amosu, the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists’ (NUJ) Ogun State Chapter, has died.

According to reports, Amosu, a National Orientation Agency (NOA) employee, died early Sunday morning.

According to Abiodun Taiwo, an assistant secretary of the NUJ in Ogun State, he expressed shock over what he called “an irreparable loss” after a brief illness.

Amosu was born on June 22, 1968, in Oke-Ore, Yewa South Local Government Area, Ogun State.

He was elected Chairman of the Ogun NUJ in 2019 as a graduate of Mass Communication, while serving as the council’s Secretary at the time.

Though, his election was dissolved by the National President of the NUJ, Chris Isiguzo, who said it was not I line with Article 5, Paragraph 10 of the Union’s Constitution. Amosu approached the National Industrial Court and the election was upheld in February, 2021.

Soji Amosu is survived by his wife and Children.
