OFFICIAL: Goodluck Jonathan Picks APC Forms.
Former President Goodluck Jonathan has picked the expression of interest and nomination forms for the All Progressives Congress presidential race in 2023. (APC).
On Monday evening, a northern delegation selected the forms on Jonathan’s behalf at the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Abuja.
Jonathan has yet to declare his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He took control after the death of late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua in 2010 and ran in the 2011 election, which he won.
In 2015, he lost reelection to President Muhammadu Buhari and conceded defeat before the election results were finalized.
According to rumors, Jonathan’s homecoming effort is being supported by two powerful governors from the northern half of the nation.
According to many sources close to Buhari, the two governors have acquired the support of a part of the government to carry out their plan of bringing the former president into the presidential campaign.
One of the governors is from the North West geopolitical zone, while the other is from the North East.
In recent years, the two governors have played pivotal roles in the APC’s affairs.
Earlier last month, he advised those of his followers who insisted on a declaration to “be on the lookout,” a mindset political pundits saw as acquiescence.
The former president has not attended any of his party’s functions in the previous seven years. This comes as his relationship with President Buhari and prominent members of the governing party takes center stage, pitting him against opposition leaders in the country.
