Nigeria’s Chukwueze Knocks Bayern Out Of UCL.

Villarreal advanced to the Champions League semi-finals at the expense of Bayern Munich thanks to a goal from Samuel Chukwueze two minutes into time.
Villarreal’s tenacious defense held Bayern virtually scoreless in the first half, but Robert Lewandowski’s first opportunity seven minutes into the second half leveled the draw on aggregate.

The goal came from a break in play when Coman intercepted Daniel Parejo’s pass in his own half and Thomas Muller set up Lewandowski for his 16th goal of the tournament off the post.

Though Bayern controlled the most of possession in the Villarreal half after halftime, the only clear chances came to Dayot Upamecano and Thomas Muller, both on either side of the goal, and both failed to test goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli.

Extra-time loomed until, on the break, Gerard Moreno sent a beautiful cross to the back post where Chukwueze, who had just been on the pitch four minutes, blasted the ball home into the roof of the goal, propelling Villarreal to their first Champions League semi-final in 16 years.
