The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has approved the commercial operation of Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport, which began yesterday.

According to a report broadcast by the Anambra State Broadcasting Service (ASBS) yesterday, various types of planes would begin landing and taking off from the airport.

Anambra State Commissioner for Works, Marcel Ifejiofor, praised Governor Willie Obiano, saying that even while on vacation, he never relented in ensuring that the airport was operational in time for the anticipated mass return of Anambra people in the Diaspora and other visitors for the yuletide season.

Also, President Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday commissioned the 40.27-kilometre Nnenwe-Odume-Uburu road in Enugu and Ebonyi states, promising to utilize the final year of his presidency to finish projects he started across the country.

He added that his administration’s dedication to lifting Nigerians out of poverty included improvements in road transportation infrastructure, ease of doing business, and job creation, among other things.

Nothing would deter the President’s administration from leaving enviable legacies for the future, he said, adding that investments in the country’s economic development were showing results.
