Super Eagles To Face Ghana In World Cup Playoff

Nigeria Face Tunisia In AFCON Round Of 16.

In the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON) round of 16 matches, the Super Eagles of Nigeria will face the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia.

Following Tunisia’s 1-0 loss to Gambia on Thursday night, the North Africans were relegated to the group stage as one of the four best third-placed teams.

Nigeria had won all three of its group stage matches, finishing first in Group D.

The match against Tunisia is expected to be a rematch of the bronze medal match at AFCON 2019 in Egypt, in which Odion Ighalo’s goal sealed the Super Eagles’ third-place finish.

In other matches, AFCON hosts Cameroon will face tournament debutants Comoros, while Burkina Faso will face Gambia, another debutant nation.
