Buhari Seeks Amendment To Electoral Act 5 Days After Assent

NASS Transmits Electoral Bill To Buhari For Assent.

Ijaw News has learnt that the Clerk of the National Assembly, Arch. Olatunde Amos Ojo, presented the Electoral Act (Amendment) Bill to President Muhammadu Buhari for assent on Monday.

According to a source, the Bill is currently with the President.

The Bill was supposed to be sent today, according to the Nation.

The President vetoed the Bill in December, prompting the National Assembly to alter it again.

However, it is unclear if the President will sign the amended Bill.

This comes after reports that governors are dissatisfied with the proposed amendments and want to lobby the president not to approve them.
