Wolves achieved a deserved 1-0 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford thanks to Joao Moutinho‘s late goal.
In the first half, the visitors were significantly superior, with Daniel Podence, Ruben Neves, and Nelson Semedo all forcing David De Gea into diving saves.
Meanwhile, the hosts were dull in attack, confined to speculative long-range tries due to poor decision-making in the final third.
In the second half, Ralf Rangnick’s team improved as substitute Bruno Fernandes hit the crossbar and Cristiano Ronaldo had a goal ruled out for offside.
However, Wolves’ Roman Saiss hit the woodwork as well, and eight minutes from time, Moutinho’s superb shot from outside the area beat De Gea.
United were unable to rally and suffered their first defeat since Rangnick took over as interim manager.
