Mali Announces Change Of Official Language From French To Bambara.

Mali have announced the switch from French to Bambala as its official language, only days after Bamako sought the departure of French Ambassador Joel Meyer.

According to reports, Bambara is spoken as a primary or second language by around 80% of Mali’s population.

They made the decision in response to the French Foreign Minister’s unfriendly and unacceptable remarks towards the Malian authorities.

Since Assimi Goitas’ administration stated that the elections, which were originally slated for February 2022, would be postponed, the relationship between Mali and France has deteriorated dramatically.

Russian presence in the former French colony is causing worry among Western nations.
