Lawmaker who Refused to Decamp with Ayade to APC Dies in Cross River

Lady Elizabeth Edem Ironbar, a member of the Cross River State House of Assembly, has died.

Ironbar, the member of parliament for Akpabuyo, died early on Wednesday, following a long illness, according to a family source who spoke to SaharaReporters on Wednesday morning, “Yes, she is no longer alive. It happened this morning.”

Ironbar was a fierce woman who lived up to her moniker.

She had been a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) since 2015 and was alleged to have refused to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC) following the defection of the state governor, Ben Ayade, to the latter party.

Ironbar is the second member of the Cross River ninith Assembly to die. She was a memt of Cross River State Disability Commission and she was noted for her bill.
