Jorginho was both a villain and a hero for Chelsea against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge, allowing up a goal and then equalizing for the Blues.
Following a dominant first half in which Antonio Rudiger came closest to scoring with a 25-yard rocket that David de Gea pushed over the crossbar, the Italian midfielder gave United the lead five minutes after the break.
Jorginho attempted to handle the ball on the halfway line after a corner was cleared, but his weak touch gifted the ball to Jadon Sancho, who raced through on goal before sliding a shot past Edouard Mendy.
Chelsea equalized midway through the half when Aaron Wan-Bissaka took down Thiago Silva in the box, and Jorginho scored from the penalty spot, sending the United goalkeeper the wrong way.
It was all Chelsea from this point on, but a Wan-Bissaka block prevented Timo Werner when he appeared to have a clear chance on goal, and Rudiger blazed his effort over the bar in the seventh minute of injury time when he had an opportunity to score the winner.
Chelsea are now just a point ahead of Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table, while United are in eighth place.
