The Ijaw Youth Council Worldwide has organized a candle procession in memory of Sylvester Oromoni Jnr, a Dowen College student who died in dubious circumstances at the age of 12.
The 12-year-old JS2 student has previously been tormented and assaulted for refusing to join a cult, according to Ijaw News.
President of Council Timothy Igbifa had earlier asked all Ijaw youths across the country to hold candles in commemoration of a fallen star in a letter dated December 7th.
Those in attendance donned black shirts with the student’s name and image customized on them.
At the candlelight moment in Glory Land, Anita Asuoha, popularly known as Real Warri Pikin, was present, as were Chief Diplomat Adam Ogomugo, Chairman, IYC Abuja Northern Chapter; Comrade Preye Ebizimor, immediate past chairman, IYC Abuja Northern Chapter; Princess Keme Oromoni, Sylvester’s cousin, and others.
