If Elected, I Will Rescue Nigeria From Buhari’s Carnage – Nyesom Wike.

If elected President, Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has pledged to confront Nigeria’s chronic security and economic crises front on.

Governor Wike emphasized that the country urgently needs a leader with political will and bravery to forcefully eliminate the plague of insecurity and revitalize the ailing economy at this crucial time.

This commitment was made by Rivers state governor while speaking to Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, representatives from Borno and Yobe states in Maiduguri, Borno state capital, on Monday.

He stated that the country’s security and economic condition had deteriorated over the last seven years as a result of the ineptitude of the present All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government.

He cautioned delegates not to be misled by individuals who may try to manipulate geopolitical and religious sentiments in order to influence how they vote at the PDP convention.

Governor Wike accused the APC leadership of conspiring behind the scenes to prevent him from being the PDP’s flag bearer. According to him, APC officials are concerned that if he wins the PDP presidential nomination, it will be the end of their rule.

The governor praised Mohammed Imam, the Borno state head of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for being a persistent and trustworthy political ally.

The Rivers state governor thanked his Borno counterpart for the kindness and good greeting he and his party received.

Borno state governor, Prof Babagana Zulum, stated that the importance of national unity, developing internal democracy, supporting peace, social cohesion, and stability in Nigeria cannot be overstated.

In his welcoming message, the Borno State PDP leader, Hon. Mohammad Imam, stated that he is one of the friends who purchased Governor Wike’s statement of intent and nomination forms because they believe in his ability to lead Nigeria out of its current socio-economic quagmire.

Imam, speaking on behalf of PDP delegates in Borno and Yobe States, criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) for its indifference to security challenges that have crippled commerce in the two states.

Hon. Imam also expressed his sorrow at the extent of damage that their communities have faced as a result of the unrelenting marauding Boko Haram murderers.

Despite their complaints, he claims that the Federal Government has not responded in a significant way.

He stated that they are now looking up to Governor Wike, who is a man of vision and guts, to save Nigeria, ensure Nigerians’ safety, and improve the economy.

In addition, Hon. Imam stated that the people of Borno and Yobe States will support a guy who will bring peace to the region.

Earlier, Governor Wike paid a courtesy call on Borno State Governor Prof. Babagana Zulu.
