Wike Can't Criticise Buhari Over State Pardon -Presidency

I Want To Be President Not VP – Wike.

Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has stated that he will never support a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) consensus candidate suggested by four northern presidential contenders.

Wike spoke in Calabar while on his way to confer with the party about his presidential bid.

Four presidential hopefuls, including former Senate President Bukola Saraki, Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal, and Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, have been consulting around the nation to establish consensus.

Governor Wike slammed those who sought consensus, saying the party should not accept a consensus candidate.

Wike further stated unequivocally that he is running for president and would not bargain for even the position of vice president with anyone.
Meanwhile, another party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has stated that he supports any arrangement by the party to select its flag bearer as long as it is fair, equitable, and inclusive.

Dr. Obi made the remarks yesterday in Benin, while attempting to attract PDP members and delegates at the party secretariat.

He said that the country’s current insecurity, economic, and other difficulties are the result of years of leadership failure, stressing that no country in the world that follows the route of Nigeria will not have problems.
