Two traditional rulers were killed and three others were critically injured in an attack by unidentified gunmen on Tuesday, at Nnenasaa, the council headquarters of Njaba local government area in Imo state.

When gunmen stormed the area and opened fire on the royal fathers, over twenty traditional rulers from the area were alleged to be attending a stakeholders meeting.

Eze Sampson Osunwa, the traditional ruler of the ihebinowere village, and Eze Anayo Durueburuo, the traditional ruler of Okwudor, were among those thought dead.

CSP Mike Abattam, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Imo State Command, confirmed the incident and stated that other monarchs who were injured during the attack are receiving medical attention at an undisclosed hospital.

So far, no arrests have been made in connection with the crime, despite the fact that the residents of the region have been in a state of panic since the sad happened.
