Gunmen Kill Three, Raze Houses In Attack On Ondo Community.

An attack on a village in Ifon, Ose LGA, Ondo state resulted in the deaths of three people and the destruction of many homes.

Ondo Commissioner of Police, Oyeyemi Oyediran, confirmed the news on Friday, saying that attempts to apprehend the offenders are underway.

The gunmen allegedly stormed Melenge camp along Elerinla, near Arimogija, in Ose council area, and killed three people, according to NAN.

Several homes were allegedly set on fire during the raid, which occurred on Thursday night.

Oyediran spoke with community residents and vowed that security services will find the offenders when he visited the Melenge camp on Friday for an on-the-spot assessment to determine the extent of damage inflicted in the region.

“I have deployed men of the special squads and police mobile force personnel to the community to ensure the protection of lives and property in the area,” he said.

The CP also reassured locals that their lives and property would be adequately protected, and urged them to provide the police with accurate information that would assist decrease crime in the state to the bare minimum.
