Gbaramatuvoice Honours Amuka, Dokpesi, Others.

Gbaramatuvoice, a leading Niger Delta media outlet, has honored the Chairman of the Vanguard newspaper, Mr Sam Amuka, the Chairman of Africa International Television, Chief Raymond Dokpesi, the South South regional Editor of the Vanguard newspaper, Mr Emma Amaize, and other key players in the Niger Delta media industry.

Speaking at the first edition of the Niger Delta annual media dinner organized by the media outfit in Warri, Delta state, where the awards were presented to the awardees and their representatives, the publisher and Chief Executive Officer, Mr Jacob Abai, said the goal was to recognize great names in the media industry in the region, the country, and to instill a love of the industry in young journalists.

Mr Ignatius Chukwu, Regional Editor, Business Day newspaper, Mr Jimitota Onoyume, Assistant News Editor, Vanguard newspaper and Bureau Chief Warri office, Mr Egufe Yafugborhi, Vanguard Correspondent, Rivers State, and Mr Ebenezer Adurokiya of Nigerian Tribune’s Warri office are also among the awardees.

Earlier in the day, during a discussion session with media practitioners from around the area, Professor Tosan Harriman, Chairman of the Editorial Board of Gbaramatuvoice, complimented the role of media practitioners in the region and the country on development issues.

He stated that journalists should continue to do what is right in cases of public interest. ” As journalists continue to do the right thing. You hold a pivotal position in society.”

Dr. Monday Ashibogwu, a prominent speaker during the discussion session, also urged journalists to be aware of their responsibilities in society at all times, emphasizing the need of upholding the ideals of their profession at all times. He was also one of the honorees at the banquet later that evening.
