Emmanuel Macron Re-elected French President.

Emmanuel Macron was re-elected President of France with an estimated 58.2 percent of the vote, beating extreme right National Rally leader Marine Le Pen, who received 41.8 percent. Macron is now the ninth French incumbent to be re-elected for a second term.
Coming into the last round of the election, independent centrist Macron was ahead in the polls, but Le Pen had gained momentum during her campaign compared to the previous time the two faced off in 2017. The second runoff involving candidates from parties other than the conventional left and right took place today.
Boris Johnson, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, was among the first international leaders to congratulate the re-elected President.
