Dzeko Header Leaves Inter Milan Top Of Serie A.

Inter Milan stretched their Serie A lead to five points after a 2-1 victory against Venezia at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

Despite being stranded in their own half throughout the first half, Venezia grabbed an unexpected lead on 18 minutes, when Ethan Ampadu’s cross from the right-wing was headed in by Thomas Henry from within the box.

Their lead, though, lasted just over twenty minutes when Inter equalized just before halftime.

Ivan Perisic from inside the box shot Matteo Darmian’s cross on the volley, forcing Venezia goalkeeper Luca Lezzerini to save, but Nicolo Barella was there to score the rebound.

Simone Inzaghi’s side waited until the last minute to score, as Edin Dzeko made up for wasted chances in the second half by heading in Denzel Dumfries’ cross at the back post to shatter Venezia hearts.
