Delta Ministry Of Environment Embarks On Awareness Creation On Healthy Environment.
The Delta State Ministry of Environment has launched a massive sensitization and awareness-raising campaign that began at the state secretariat and went all the way to Nnebisi road, Ogbegonogo market, Dennis Osadebay, Abraka market, Ezenei road, Cable, DLA road, Summit road in Asaba Oshimili south local government area, Okpanam road and Ibusa Oshimili north local government area.
Mr Lucky Adah, Director of Sanitation and Waste Management, led some ministry personnel and Delta State Command Peace Corps in a sensitization exercise using a public address system.
It was designed to remind citizens of the need of cutting vegetation, keeping their surroundings clean at all times, and registering with authorized Private Sector Participants (PSPs) for appropriate trash disposal to government-approved dumpsites.
He warned against dumping rubbish indiscriminately in media kerbs and undeveloped plots, and urged adequately bagging the material before final disposal.
Refuse bags were delivered together with summary abatement and abatement letters for compliance within three days during the sensitization session.
