In the state, there has been high-wire politicking over who among those who have expressed interest and purchased governorship nomination forms under the PDP platform will succeed him.

Speaking on the development, Governor Okowa said on Sunday at the 70th birth anniversary thanksgiving service of Chief Oritsetimeyin Adams, which was held at Cathedral Church of St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Sapele, that he was committed to allowing God’s will to prevail on the choice of who would succeed him in 2023.

He stated that he did not wish to lord himself over the people, but rather to accept God’s will to present Deltans with a worthy successor as governor.

He thanked the church and other leaders for their prayers and support, and asked them to hope that God would provide the State with a worthy successor.

According to him, the choice of a successor is determined by God’s will rather than man’s.
