The Presidency has revealed that Air Force personnel who died in plane crash earlier on Sunday were on a rescue mission for the abducted students of the Government Science College, Kagara,

The Personal Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, made this known in a post on his Twitter page on Sunday night.

His tweet read: “Disturbed by the recent revelation that the NAF personnel who died today in a plane crash were en route Minna on a rescue mission for the abducted staff and students of the Government Science College, Kagara, the House of Representatives revealed in a statement this evening. “

Meanwhile, the United States have commiserated with Nigeria and victims of the military aircraft that crashed near the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja.

In a tweet on Sunday, the US Mission in Nigeria commiserated with the Force, the families of the officers and all Nigerians on the tragedy.

The United States expresses sincere condolences to the @NigAirForce, family members and all Nigerians for the loss of life in today’s aircraft crash,” it tweeted.
