Comedia Cute Abiola Finally Released By Nigerian Navy

Abdulgafar Ahmad, popularly known as Cute Abiola, a Nigerian comedian, has been released from detention by the Nigerian Navy.

Commodore Suleman Dahun, a military spokesperson, confirmed this and stated that he is no longer in naval captivity and has been freed to serve his sentence.

Cute Abiola was reported missing on Monday, November 15, 2021, when his colleague in the comedy profession, Debo Adedayo nicknamed Mr. Macaroni, raised the alarm that he was nowhere to be located after reporting to his office in Navy Town, Lagos, on the same day.

The Nigerian Navy, on the other hand, announced that the comedian was not missing, but had been jailed for violating military rules by posting a video of himself in military uniform on social media, which is said to be a contravention of the armed forces’ social media policy.
