Buhari Vows To Hold Importers Of Adulterated Fuel Accountable.
President Muhammadu Buhari stated yesterday that the country’s suppliers of methanol-induced petroleum products were to blame for the poor gasoline and should be held accountable. Buhari urged relevant government agencies to take all legally permissible steps to ensure consumer respect and protection against market exploitation and social injustice.
The president was responding to the tale of contaminated fuel imported into the nation, which was reported to have caused damage to several automobiles.
The removal of the fuel is the source of the recent petrol crisis, which has resulted in long fuel lineups in various Nigerian towns and cities.
Buhari stated that the preservation of consumer interests was his administration’s top concern in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Mallam Garba Shehu. He stated that his administration was prepared to take the required steps to safeguard customers from dangerous products, loss, or injury caused by the use of inferior goods.
According to the president, service providers must offer full disclosure of important information on the usage of their products in accordance with the law. He stated that unsatisfied customers have the right to seek resolution of their grievances.
