Buhari, Osinbajo Mourns Afenifere Spokesman, Odumakin

President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo have commiserated with the family, friends and acquaintances of spokesman of Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin, .

In a statement issued by presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina on Saturday, Buhari recalled that Odumakin was his spokesman in 2011 when he ran for President on the platform of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC).

The president, who described Odumakin as dutiful, and a person of conviction, voiced sorrow at his demise, when he had a lot more to contribute to society and the nation at large.

He prayed God to grant repose to the soul of the departed activist, and comfort all those who mourn him.

On his part, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo expressed shock over what he described “the sad news” of the death of Odumakin”.

The Vice-President, in a statement signed by his spokesman Laolu Akande, also condoled with his wife, family and associates.

Osinbajo further prayed that the Lord will comfort the family, and bless his memory always.
