The UK government has sanctioned Roman Abramovich, and as a result, he will not be allowed to sell Chelsea.
Foreign Secretary Liz Truss said the 55-year-old was subject to a comprehensive asset freeze and travel restriction, along with seven other people.
As a result, the 55-year-old won’t be able to offload Chelsea.
When he acquired Chelsea in 2003, the Russian billionaire ushered in a new era for the club and the Premier League. However, after 19 years in command, Abramovich has announced his decision to sell Chelsea and made his plans public last week.
