Breaking: Senator Hosea Ehinlanwo Dies at 83

Two terms Senator for Ondo South Senatorial District, Hosea Oladapo Ehinlanwo is dead.

He was at the Upper Chambers of the National Assembly between 2003 and 2011 on the platform of People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Oladapo, B.Sc, LLB, B.L, MBA; businessman, lawyer, Politician and administrator was born on August 2,1938 in Ilaje, Ilaje council area of Ondo State.

One of the deceased sons, Soji Ehinlanwo who confirmed the passage of the late senator wrote on his Facebook page; “I can confirm that the most influential human figure in my life is gone. My Dad – Senator Hosea Oladapo Ehinlanwo died this night – Friday 29th October, 2021. Adieu dear Dad”

Ehinlanwo had his primary education at L.A. Primary School, Ajido Badagry, Lagos, 1946-53; Colony Teachers College, Ikorodu; Christ Apostolic Church Teachers College, Efon- Alaye, 1955 to 1965; Thomas A. Edison College, Florida, USA, 1975; University 1982; University of Benin, 1989-93.

A former director of llaje/Ese Odo Community Bank, Igbokoda, 1991-97; General Sec., Ondo State Association of Community Banks (OSAEB), 1992-94 and Secretary, Steering Ccmmittee of National Association of.Community Banks, l994.

He started his political career as elected Councilor, llaje/Ese Odo LGA, 1977-79; elected Senator, representing Ondo South Senatorial District (Sani Abacha transitional Programmes);

Senator Ehimlanwo was member of Senate Committee on National Population, (NPC), National Identity card/INEC, 2003-05; Senate Committee on Navy, 2005-07; Senate Committee on Petroleum (Downstream), Ethics, Privilege/Public Petition.

He was also a member of Joint National Assembty Committee on Review of the 1999 Constitution; Community Relation Committee on Oil Mineral Producing Area Development Commission (OMPADEC); Consultant on Women & Youth Development in the Niger Delta Development Commission, (NDDC) Master Plan, 2002-03.
