Residents of Aladja community in Udu Local Government Area and their Ogbe-Ijoh counterparts of Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State are reportedly in a fierce gun battle, IJAW NEWS has learnt.
While details surrounding the impasse are still sketchy as at press time, IJAW NEWS gathered that the outbreak follows a series of accusations and counter-accusation between the two communities.
This newspaper had earlier reported how palpable tension engulfed the communities following the death of a pastor from Ogbe-Ijoh, Sylvester Yerinbide on Saturday 30th October, 2021.
People of Ogbe-Ijoh had demanded that Aladja community fish out the perpetrators of the heinous crime, a demand that has not been met, according to sources.
People of Aladja, however, insisted that the perpetrators were not from their community.
President of Aladja community, Elder Otto Ogbiruveta, said; “On behalf of the people of Aladja community, I condemn the murder of that our brother, a pastor. Aladja community does not have a hand in it. And at the moment we don’t know those who carried out that act,”
