General Ibrahim Babangida‘s junta’s successor, Chief Ernest Shonekan, has died.
At the age of 85, Shonekan died in a hospital in Lagos’ Lekki district.
Between August 26 until November 17, 1993, he served as the interim leader of Nigeria’s government before being deposed in a coup headed by General Sani Abacha.
