Ijaw Community Set To Get Electricity For First Time Ever

Power outage have been reported in various parts of the federation following the collapse of the national electricity grid.

The head of corporate communication of the Kaduna Electricity Distribution PLC, Abdulazeez Abdullahi confirmed the development in a statement issued on Sunday.

According to a post on Kaduna Electric’s Twitter handle, Abdullahi noted that the collapse occurred around 11:26am.

“Dear Esteemed Customers, we regret to inform you that the loss of power supply in our franchise — Kaduna, Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states — is as a result of the collapse of the national grid. The collapse occurred at about 11:26 am this morning,” the post read.

“Supply shall be restored as soon as the grid is back up. We regret all inconveniences.”

It will be recalled that in January 2020,the national grid collapsed twice within 24 hours.
