BEDC Promises To Restore Power To Delta Community.

BEDC, the Benin Electricity Distribution Company, has committed to restore power to Agbarho, a hamlet in Delta State’s Ughelli North Local Government Area.

Mr Simple Ugherakpoteri, BEDC’s Head of Community Relations, who offered the promise at a meeting between the firm and community leaders, stated a strong downpour that wrecked electric poles caused the community’s protracted power outage.

He claimed that BEDC’s personnel are already on the job and that electricity would be restored as soon as they are finished.

Ugherakpoteri also pledged to look into the community’s complaints concerning overbilling and projected fees.

Chief Monday Igho-Odiphri, President General of Agbarho Urhobo Improvement Union, spoke on behalf of the community, describing the meeting as productive and expressing optimism that electricity would be restored to the village as soon as possible.

He pushed BEDC authorities to uphold their end of the bargain, promising to provide all required help and stressing that they would not transfer the BEDC office from the neighbourhood.

Recall that the community took to the streets last week to protest over the community’s constant power outages and the company’s exorbitant expected bills.
