The Bayelsa State Physical Planning and Development Board has sealed off the Assemblies of God Church located off Ebi’s Mechanic Road at Amarata axis of Yenagoa for hidding the collapse of its building under construction from relevant authorities. A Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) member of staff of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) in Benin, Edo State, Prince Carter Oshodin has committed suicide over unpaid salaries and inability to pay his two young daughters’ school fees. Oshodin, a data entry officer at the Federal Government-owned higher institution, took his life on Friday at Umelu in Upper Sokponba area of Benin, the state capital. Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams on Friday said efforts to secure the pipelines were frustrated by officials of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) who were unhappy that their agents were being prevented from stealing oil and vandalising pipelines. Niger Delta freedom fighter and founder of the Niger Delta Volunteer Force (NDVF), Asari Dokubo, has opposed the N4.5bn monthly pipeline surveillance contract awarded to former militant leader, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, aka, Tompolo.
