Atletico Madrid Mount Two Goal Comeback To Stun Valencia.

Atletico Madrid won a comeback victory over Valencia at the Wanda Metropolitano thanks to two goals in injury time.

Yunus Musah’s stunning shot from outside the box and Hugo Duro’s poacher’s finish in the first half gave the visitors a merited two-goal halftime advantage.

Substitute Matheus Cunha cut the lead in half by slamming home Yannick Carrasco’s corner from close range, but despite dominating the second half, Atletico couldn’t force a draw until late in extra time.

After Jaume parried Carrasco’s cross into his path, another substitution, Angel Correa, scored.

Cunha’s cross was turned in at the back post by Mario Hermoso two minutes later, sending the home fans and their under-pressure manager into ecstasy.

Atletico Madrid is now only four points behind Real Betis in third place. Valencia is still in ninth place.
