Akeredolu Vows Not To Let Herdsmen Overrun Ondo State.
Ondo State Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has stated that his government will not allow criminals posing as herders to overrun the state in any way.
Akeredolu, who promised to bring the murderous herdsmen terrorizing some towns to justice, promised increased security in some regions of the state.
The Governor stated yesterday in his office while greeting members of the Auga Community, led by the Alauga of Auga-Akoko, Oba Samuel Agunloye, on a courtesy visit.
Increased security presence will be deployed, according to Akeredolu, who expressed his displeasure with the constant attacks on farmers and their farmlands, particularly in bordering communities.
He urged citizens to be prepared and to report suspected offenders to security services as soon as possible, stating that his administration would not allow killer herdsmen to take over the state.
The governor also urged traditional rulers in the state to collaborate with the Amotekun Corps and other security agencies to ensure that their domain is properly secured.
The Iboropa-Auga/Ase/Ikaram road is one of the roads that will be built under the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project, according to Akeredolu (RAAMP).
On the reconstruction of Auga Community Grammar School, Auga Akoko, Akeredolu said the time has come for communities to devise various strategies for developing their schools, adding that old students organizations and communities must work together to enhance schools in their communities.
